Scontrosa Graziella welcomes the COP31 Bike Ride, passing through Trieste on Saturday 5 September 2026. On this occasion we’ll take part in a debate in Campo San Giacomo on urban space and climate change. At the same time, we’ll be around with our tools to fix up bikes, free of charge, for anyone taking part or just passing by.

What is the COP31 Bike Ride
From 3 to 6 September 2026 the COP31 Bike Ride crosses Friuli Venezia Giulia: a bicycle relay linking Belém, Brazil, host of COP30, to Antalya, Turkey, host of COP31, to bring ten concrete cycling-policy proposals to the UN climate conference. Along the way, each stop is a chance for local communities to meet, talk about sustainable mobility, and put into practice, if only for an afternoon, the idea of a city designed for people first.
Saturday 5 September in Trieste
The group arrives in Piazza Unità at 4pm. Events then move to Campo San Giacomo, with a full afternoon and evening of children’s activities and socialising. At 6pm there’s a public debate, “Democracy of Public Space: Putting People First”, introduced by local experts, though everyone is invited to bring their own contribution.
Scontrosa Graziella’s open-air bike workshop will be running for the whole event, and it’s also a chance to meet our collective, see how a community bike workshop works and, why not, pick up a trick or two for maintaining your own bike.
The event is promoted by Ulisse - FIAB Trieste, Scontrosa Graziella, Legambiente, local civic associations, municipal governments and the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF).
